Get A Year’s Worth of Blog Post Ideas in 60 Minutes
Book Review: The One Hour Content Plan: The Solopreneur’s Guide to a Year’s Worth of Blog Post Ideas in 60 Minutes and Creating Content That Hooks and Sells by Meera Kothand
Hi, it’s Darren and this week, I’d like to take a look at a book on a subject that’s dear to my heart. Ideation for blogs. See, it’s easy to write a blog for a week or two or a month or two. If you’re following your passion – you’ll have plenty of ideas.
The trouble is that in the long run, coming up for ideas gets harder.
So, if you’ve seen my post on How to Think of Ideas for Your First Blog; you’ll have some indication as to the kind of processes you can use. Meera Kothand, however, has formalized this for individual posts and she says you can do it fast.
Is she right? Let’s take a look.
Meera’s style is great and I like her conversational approach to things. Like many books on Amazon this is a much better deal on Kindle than in paper. In fact, at the moment, it’s $9 cheaper.
You don’t have to have a Kindle to use this format – you can always use the Kindle app on your phone or computer. So save some cash and go Kindle.
Also, her approach is logical and reasonably meticulous. The truth is that every blog on a subject is going to have a lot of crossover (we certainly do with other financial sites) and that means you can get ideas from anywhere. Meera’s got a ton of them.
The Not So Positive
For the price, Meera’s book is a great value. It teaches you the way to get the ball rolling on your blog with the minimum of effort. My only concern is that it might be a little too generic – you do have to create things that nobody else has too or your risk offering your readers little incentive to stick around.
Overall though, I’d say that for $2.99, you can’t go wrong.
